Costco is selling a 2-person rooftop tent that fits on the top of your car

Ultimate road trip? Or ultimate camping trip?

Costco has historically been a great place to visit for great discounts on bulk buys — even compared to Sam's Club. It's also great for one-offs you never thought you needed. New in the mix of products you never knew you needed: A two-person tent from Silverwing that doesn’t stake into the ground, but rather affixes to the top of your car, giving you a moveable, rooftop nest.  Led Camp Lights

While the tent sells for $2,199.99, it evens out if you’re the kind of person who gets out on the weekends and wants the flexibility to sleep anywhere, anytime without worrying about a campground or wet ground. The tent is spacious enough for two, too: Interior dimensions measure 82-by-48-by-39 inches, meaning you and your partner won't be all cramped.

To get up to your nest, there’s an 8.5-foot ladder that can be packs up and stores inside the tent when you’re heading off to sleep. A mattress is also included with a removable cover for when your journey is a long one, and pockets keep essentials like flashlights and phones handy. You don’t have to pass rainy nights in the car, either: This tent comes with a rain fly (including awning), so you can pop inside the tent while minimizing the rain’s impact.

The unit comes pre-assembled, so there’s nothing to put together or affix before you debut it on a trip. Instead, it’ll be up and running in literally 1 minute, thanks to easy-up design. When you’re ready to go, the tnet folds down into a rooftop carrier that’s low-slung and aerodynamic — and it holds sleeping gear and more personal items too, leaving more space inside the car. The whole take-down process takes just 3 minutes, so you can get back out on the road for your next destination.
